The anthology experiment: six standalone stories across the timeline and map of the apocalypse, with different tones, casts, and formats. One episode is an odd-couple comedy, one is a deep character piece, and one introduces a major new villain origin story (Alpha’s past) that fans of the flagship will want.
Anthologies live and die by their range, and this one ranges hard: the episodes are hit and miss by design, but the hits (the boat episode, Dee’s story) justify the experiment. Six episodes, one sitting, no homework.
Our take: 7/10. A mixed-bag experiment that mostly justifies itself.
