Our Review
The revival that survived its own troubled production (a mid shoot overhaul, a restart, the strikes) and emerged worthy: Matt Murdock, years after quitting the vigilante life, practicing law honestly; Fisk, somehow elected mayor of New York; and the two men circling each other in the daylight, courtroom and city hall instead of rooftops, until the masks come back. The first half runs the political thriller register (Fisk’s anti vigilante task force, Vanessa’s arc), and when the violence returns it lands with the old weight: the choreography discipline intact.
Cox and D’Onofrio slip back into the roles like no time passed (their diner scene, two monsters pretending to be citizens, is the season’s centerpiece), the new villain Muse gives the season its horror register, and the cliffhanger sets the next chapter. A rebuild season: the pieces reassembled, the war reignited. The faith was rewarded.
Verdict: Watch it, the Devil is back, and he’s still the best thing in live action Marvel.
