Our Review
Two hundred years before the cape: Seg-El, Superman’s grandfather, is a disgraced teen in a caste-rigid city where the House of El has been stripped of its name. Adam Strange travels back in time to make sure the cape still happens, because someone is trying to erase Superman from history before he is born.
The worldbuilding is the draw: Krypton as a living society, guilds, political scheming, and General Zod (Colin Salmon) arriving as the best kind of complication. Cameron Cuffe carries the show with real charm. Two seasons, cancelled on a development that would have changed everything, but the second season’s Brainiac arc is superb space opera. A better show than its reputation, and the most underrated DC entry of its era.
