Superman’s cousin gets her own show and immediately has to prove she is not a footnote. Melissa Benoist’s Kara Zor-El is sunny where Oliver is brooding, and the show’s optimism is the point: hope as a choice, not naivety.
Season one finds its feet on CBS, the move to the CW opens the door to the wider universe, and the show peaks in seasons two through four: Cat Grant’s mentorship, the Sanvers romance, and Calista-style media satire via CatCo. The later seasons lean harder into politics and space opera, with the Nyxly finale charming fans who stayed. Six seasons, and Benoist never once dropped the sincerity that makes the character work.
