New week, new watchlist. Here’s what’s worth your couch time this weekend — September 4-7, 2026 — from the shows that just dropped to the binge that never gets old.
Just Dropped: Watch It Now
Lanterns (HBO) — The Green Lantern series finally landed and it’s the conversation starter of the fall. New episodes Sundays, so the weekend is your chance to catch up before the next one hits. Our take: it earns the hype.
Chad Powers (Hulu) — Season 2 dropped all six episodes on September 3, which makes this the freshest full-binge on any streamer right now. Glen Powell’s prosthetic alter ego is exactly the low-brainpower, high-laugh weekend reset. Our take: 9/10, smart and funny.
The Varnell Hill Show — Quietly one of the better new premieres of the past month. If you missed it, the weekend’s a good time to get in early.
Coming This Week: Mark Your Calendar
The Drop: A Snowfall Saga (FX) premieres Monday, September 8 — the Snowfall spin-off following Wanda into the 1990s. Our anticipation: 7/10. Set the recording now, thank us Tuesday.
After that the fall season opens the floodgates: Golden Axe (Sept 16, Paramount+), Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story (Sept 17, Netflix), Youth (Sept 20, HBO), and Brothers (Sept 23, Apple TV) — we’ve got early words on all of them.
The Weekend Binge: Our All-Time Heavy Hitters
Nothing new calling your name? These are the highest-rated shows on the whole site — the ones we never argue about:
- Breaking Bad — the most complete drama in television history. If you somehow haven’t, this is the weekend.
- Arcane — the best-animated-anything argument-ender on Netflix.
- Better Call Saul — proof a spin-off can stand shoulder to shoulder with its parent.
- Cowboy Bebop — 26 episodes, one perfect weekend.
One-Line Pick If You Only Have Time for One
Chad Powers. Six episodes, all out, genuinely funny, and you’ll be caught up with everyone else’s Monday-morning conversation. Done by Sunday night.
Updated weekly. Next edition: Friday, September 11.
