Our Review

The show that single-handedly justified Disney+ and restored Star Wars’ soul by shrinking it: a lone bounty hunter, a cute child, and a lawless galaxy. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s space-western strips Star Wars to its Sergio Leone bones — the first season is nearly silent, all visors and blasters and Trainspotting-era practical effects, and that minimalism is exactly why it works. Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin emotes through a helmet better than most actors do with their whole face.

Then there’s Grogu. The Child was a merchandising nuke and, somehow, also a genuinely effective storytelling choice — a 50-year-old toddler who humanizes a stone killer. Season 2 builds to a finale that made the entire internet scream (that Jedi cameo), and The Chapter 15/16 run is the best two hours of live-action Star Wars since Empire. Season 3 wanders — too much Mandalore politics, not enough momentum — but the bones remain strong.

Verdict: Watch it. This is the way.
