The best short from Star Wars: Visions gets expanded into its own series. A thousand years after the sequel trilogy, the galaxy has forgotten the Jedi, and a sabersmith’s daughter carries freshly forged lightsabers to a ruler who wants to rebuild the order. Some of the knights waiting for those blades are not what they claim.
Production I.G. (the animation studio behind the original short) brings full anime craft: lightsaber duels staged like samurai films, a story about legends and impostors that works whether or not you know a Wookiee from a Womprat. It stands entirely apart from Skywalker lore, which is exactly why it flies. The Visions label started as an experiment, this is the experiment paying off. Set farthest along the Star Wars timeline of anything ever made.
