The tournament arc, weaponized. In a near future where Gundam plastic models can be piloted in virtual battles, Sei Iori builds and Reiji fights, a builder and a natural pilot from another world chasing the world championship together. No war, no death, just the pure joy of the toy box made epic.
Build Fighters is the franchise’s love letter to its own fans, and the fights are animated with more care than most serious entries get. It is also the easiest Gundam ever made for a newcomer, or for a dad watching with a kid.
Fifty episodes, 2013. Tonal whiplash after Iron-Blooded Orphans, and a delight on purpose.
