An animated anthology from the Marvel corner that nobody saw coming: across four episodes, different Wakandan War Dogs retrieve stolen vibranium artifacts from three continents and two wars, spanning the 1200s to the Age of Pirates to the days of the Korean conflict.

It plays like an anthology of short war films with Wakandan rules: honor culture, spy craft, and the weight of a nation’s most dangerous resource. The animation changes style per era and the voice cast (including a very good Winnie Harlow and the return of familiar Wakandan names) treats the material straight, no winks. Four tight episodes, a complete story cycle, easy one-sitting binge. A quiet gem in the Phase 6 lineup and the best argument that Marvel’s animated wing is where the risks get taken.
