Our Review
The followup anthology, same structure: two falls. Morgan Elsbeth, the Nightsister who survived Dathomir’s genocide and rises through the Imperial machine with witch cold patience, and Barriss Offee, the Clone Wars traitor given a second chance by the Empire as an Inquisitor, whose arc interrogates what “justice” means when the institution defining it is evil. The Barriss episodes are the stronger thread: the true believer who finally sees the machine’s face, and her choice in the finale is the anthology’s moral center.
The Elsbeth episodes bridge Rebels and Ahsoka, giving Thrawn’s future apprentice her origin and Dathomir’s mourning its voice. Six 15-minute episodes, the Filoni house painterly style, and the same discipline as the first volume, the darker mirror, how the Empire recruits the broken.
Verdict: Watch it after Tales of the Jedi. Short, sharp, and mean in the right ways.
