Sam Witwer has been the voice of Maul for over a decade and this series finally gives the character his proper spotlight. Set between the Clone Wars and his fate on Tatooine, it is a story about a broken man rebuilding himself out of spite, and it is darker than anything Star Wars has done on screen.
The animation is theatrical, the tone is pure crime saga, and fans of The Clone Wars will feel right at home. Casual viewers may find it grim, but that is the point of Maul.
Our take: 8/10.
