Our Review

The Netflix reboot of Irwin Allen’s camp classic is played straight: the Robinson family — Maureen (Molly Parker), John (Toby Stephens), and the kids Judy, Penny, and Will — crash on an unknown planet after their colony ship is attacked, meet a scared robot (“Danger, Will Robinson”) that bonds with Will, and have to survive a planet actively trying to kill them while Dr. Smith (Parker Posey, magnificent — a gender-swapped sociopath and the show’s best thing) manipulates everyone.

Season 1 is a solid survival story; season 2 explores the Robot’s origins and the mythology deepens; season 3 closes the family’s journey with a proper ending. The production values are film-level, the family drama is sincere, and the kids (especially Maxwell Jenkins’s Will and his bond with the Robot) carry real weight. It’s a rare family-friendly sci-fi that respects both young and older audiences — a warm blanket of a space show.

Verdict: Watch it with the family. Danger, Will Robinson — of running out of episodes.
