Our Review

The MCU’s most infamous flop — the show that killed the Inhumans as a franchise. The Royal Family of Attilan: Black Bolt (a king whose whisper levels cities — Anson Mount doing solemn-face acting under a terrible wig), Medusa (whose prehensile hair is her power — the show shaves her bald in episode one, removing the character’s defining ability for budget reasons — an all-time self-own), and Maximus (Iwan Rheon, Game of Thrones’ Ramsay, playing a revolutionary with none of the material he deserves). A coup sends them to Hawaii. Hawaii!

Everything is wrong: the production design (Attilan looks like a convention hall), the effects (poor Lockjaw the teleporting bulldog — the one good thing, budget-permitting), the writing (the fish-out-of-water royal comedy that isn’t funny). Eight episodes of a project nobody believed in, from the era when Marvel Television and Marvel Studios were at war. The MCU’s Batman & Robin.

Verdict: Skip it — the textbook “watch this not that” entry. Watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Inhuman arcs instead.
