The sequel everyone warned you about, and the honest verdict is more complicated than the memes. Boruto follows Naruto’s son and a new Team 7, and the anime made a choice that defines the experience: most of its run is anime original content rather than the manga’s story, which is why the filler question dominates every conversation about it.

Here is the practical guide: the manga canon stretches (the Chunin exam retelling, the Kara arc, the Code arc, and the Timeskip era that the sequel series is building on) are genuinely good and carry the Naruto DNA. The long anime original arcs in between range from decent (the Mitsuki disappearance arc) to forgettable (the sea battle). If you loved Naruto, the parent child material lands hard, and the Two Blue Vortex era has rekindled real interest. Just go in knowing the filler map is the whole game.
