James Gunn’s first DC project is exactly what you would hope: a black ops team of monsters nobody would miss, sent on missions nobody else can do. It is crude, funny, and sneakily emotional, with each monster getting a flashback episode that makes you care about things like a robot bride and a weasel.
The animation is stylish and the voice cast is stacked. A short, raunchy blast that sets the tone for Gunn’s DC universe.
