Our Review

The Star Wars Goonies: four kids from a pristine suburban planet find a buried ship, accidentally launch it, and end up lost in the galaxy with a suspicious “captain” (Jude Law, having the time of his life as a silver-tongued pirate deciding whether he cares). The Amblin register — kid-adventure wonder, creepy aliens, parents who don’t understand — is a completely new tone for the franchise, and it works: the kids are genuinely good actors (especially Ryan Kiera Armstrong’s Fern), and the pirate crew is properly grotesque fun.

The mystery of At Attin pays off with a finale that’s both a proper kid-movie climax and a genuine lore bomb. The show never got the audience it deserved, but it’s the most purely fun live-action Star Wars since Mandalorian season 1.

Verdict: Watch it with the family. The rare Star Wars that’s actually for kids without being childish.
