Your Friends & Neighbors
Cast & Key People
Our Review
Jon Hamm has played the handsome man rotting from the inside so many times it should be a character type, and Your Friends & Neighbors is the one where he finally admits it’s funny. Created by Jonathan Tropper, it premiered on Apple TV in April 2025 and found its footing fast: Coop, a hedge-fund prince divorced, fired and hiding both from his kids, starts burgling the mansions of his Greenwich neighbors. The series holds a 84% average on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics nearly unanimously credit Hamm for making a monster watchable.
The first season (79%) is a glossy crime caper. The second (89%, premiering April 2026) digs the hole deeper, which is the point: each score lifts the previous one’s stakes. Amanda Peet as the ex-wife who’s onto him faster than the plot deserves, Olivia Munn as the neighbor who might be the only real monster left standing, and a supporting cast of rich idiots played exactly as cruel as written.
It is a dark comedy pretending to be a crime drama, which is the right way around. If your patience is short, the show earns a Breaking Bad comparison honestly: a decent man talking himself into theft, one justification at a time.
Both seasons are out now on Apple TV. Our score: 7.5/10.
