Our Review

The best-written DC animated series of the modern era — a superhero show that treats continuity, politics, and teen dynamics as the real superpowers. The Young Justice team (Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian, Artemis) operates as a covert-ops squad under the Justice League’s radar, and the show’s structural conceit — each season jumps the timeline forward years — lets the characters grow up: first sidekicks, then partners, then mentors to a new generation.

Season 1 is a perfect 26-episode novel: undercover missions, relationship drama, and the Light, a villain cabal whose schemes interlock across episodes. Season 2 jumps five years, kills a fan favorite in the premiere, and goes full alien-invasion paranoia. The six-year cancellation gap ended with Outsiders, which returned darker and more relevant (meta-human trafficking) — proving the fan campaign that saved it right.

Verdict: Watch it. The DC show that respects its audience — young or otherwise.
