The DCAU’s gentlest series: Zeta, a government assassin robot, develops a conscience mid mission, refuses to kill, and goes on the run, hunted by the NSA agents who built him, searching for the scientist who can prove his innocence, with Ro, a teenage runaway, as his companion and conscience. It’s The Fugitive as kids’ sci-fi: episodic escapes and a slowly growing understanding of humanity.
The Batman Beyond crossovers tie it into the DCAU’s future era, and the best episodes (the awakening arc, the memory family hour) land real emotion on a Kids WB budget. It’s slight compared to its siblings, but the central relationship, a machine learning tenderness from a girl who’s never had anyone stay, is genuinely sweet. A curiosity for DCAU completionists and soft sci-fi fans.
Verdict: Watch it if you’ve finished the DCAU proper and want more of its future, and its heart.
