Our Review

The DCAU’s gentlest series: Zeta, a government assassin robot, develops a conscience mid-mission, refuses to kill, and goes on the run — hunted by the NSA agents who built him, searching for the scientist who can prove his innocence, with Ro, a teenage runaway, as his companion and conscience. It’s The Fugitive as kids’ sci-fi: episodic escapes and a slowly growing understanding of humanity.

The Batman Beyond crossovers tie it into the DCAU’s future era, and the best episodes (the awakening arc, the memory-family hour) land real emotion on a Kids WB budget. It’s slight compared to its siblings, but the central relationship — a machine learning tenderness from a girl who’s never had anyone stay — is genuinely sweet. A curiosity for DCAU completionists and soft sci-fi fans.

Verdict: Watch it if you’ve finished the DCAU proper and want more of its future — and its heart.
