Critical Role’s campaign one becomes an adult animated fantasy about a drunken, dysfunctional mercenary crew who end up saving the world mostly by accident and stubbornness. The first season is raunchy fun, and from season two on it becomes a genuinely great fantasy epic with dragon politics, resurrected villains, and real emotional weight.
You do not need to know the dice game to love it. The characters carry everything, exactly as they did at the table.
