Our Review

The Librarians takes the fun parts of Warehouse 13 and Indiana Jones and runs a whole team of them. Noah Wyle’s Flynn Carsen, the man with a dozen degrees and no idea how to talk to people, recruits three new Librarians to guard the world’s magical artifacts, backed by Eve Baird, a counterterrorism agent assigned to keep the nerds alive. Christian Kane, John Kim, and Lindy Booth make the trio, and John Larroquette’s Jenkins steals every scene he is in.

This is comfort food adventure with real craft. Each week an artifact threatens a city, the team outsmarts it, and the banter lands. Behind the monster of the week there is a slow arc about magic returning to the world, and the show treats its mythology with more care than most. Rebecca Romijn joining as Baird gave it spine, and the Christmas episodes became a small tradition of their own.

Four seasons, forty two episodes, complete story. Dean Devlin made exactly the show he set out to make, warm, quick, and smarter than it needs to be. The 2025 reboot did not keep this cast or this heart, which tells you what the original had.
