Our Review

The X-adjacent refugee drama: a suburban family goes on the run when the kids manifest mutant powers and the Sentinel Services (the mutant-hunting federal agency) comes for them, joining an underground network of mutants hiding in plain sight. The show wears its allegory openly — registration lists, internment rhetoric, the politics of the hunted — and the family-first spine (Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker as the parents learning their world was always this cruel to other people’s kids) gives it heart.

The underground’s roster (Polaris, Eclipse, Blink, Dreamer) builds a solid ensemble, and season 2’s Inner Circle arc (the Hellfire faction, the Frost sisters) escalates the ideological split: integration vs. liberation. Canceled on a cliffhanger — a Disney-Fox merger casualty — but the best live-action X-Men TV we got.

Verdict: Watch it — the X-Men’s refugee allegory done with real conviction.
