Our Review

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. is the strangest thing FOX aired in 1993, a western with science fiction hiding inside it. Bruce Campbell plays a Harvard educated bounty hunter tracking the gang that killed his father, and the trail keeps bumping into a mysterious glowing orb that might be from the future. It plays the cowboy stuff straight and the weird stuff straighter, which is exactly why it works.

Julius Carry as rival bounty hunter Lord Bowler nearly walks off with the show, and the two of them grow from enemies to something like family over the run. Every episode has a hook, a fight, a gadget, and at least one line Campbell delivers like he invented it.

It lasted one season and has been a cult favorite ever since. If you like your westerns with a wink and a sci-fi pulse, there is nothing else quite like it.
