Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
▶
Our Review
Gundam with the fantasy stripped out. On a Mars where child soldiers are company property, a pack of orphans raises a rebellion under Orga Itsuka, while Mikazuki, the boy who follows him without hesitation, turns the ancient Gundam Barbatos into the deadliest thing on any battlefield. There is no war glory here, just kids paying for adults’ wars.
Iron-Blooded Orphans runs on consequences. People die without ceremony, victories cost limbs, and the final episode is one of the most discussed endings in modern anime, loved and hated with equal passion. Mari Okada’s writing gives these kids more humanity than most shows give their adults.
Two seasons, fifty episodes, complete story. Brutal, honest, and unforgettable. One of the best entries the franchise has produced in thirty years.
