Crazy About You

Mania de Você opened in 2024 like a shot: two girls born on the same day into wildly different worlds, an island near Angra dos Reis, and a friendship curdling into obsession. Gabz and Agatha Moreira throw themselves into Viola and Luma, and the early chapters, thick with betrayal and the threat of murder, felt genuinely new for Globo.

The trouble is the middle. The show falls in love with its own twists, stacking reversals until the stakes stop registering, and the toxic bond at the center tips from riveting to repetitive. Chay Suede, Nicolas Prattes and Adriana Esteves do solid work with characters whose motives keep bending to serve the plot.

And yet the atmosphere never breaks. The island, the moody photography and two committed lead performances keep even the foolish chapters watchable. It ended in March 2025 after 173 chapters, divisive to its final scene, and people still argue about that ending, which counts for something.
