Our Review
The Boys spin-off that earns its own identity: Godolkin University, the superhero college where supes train for the Seven’s spotlight — and Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), a blood-controller freshman, discovers the school’s secret: the Woods, the underground facility where the university experiments on students who don’t fit the brand. The show is the parent show’s satire turned to campus politics: fraternities as brand incubators, the ranking system as social media, ambition as blood sport.
The cast (especially Emma Meyer, the size-shifter whose power costs her body mass — the show’s best metaphor and best performance) is excellent, and the cameos tie it to the mothership without leaning on it. Season 2 continues the experiment. The college years of the Boys universe, with its own teeth.
Verdict: Watch it — the rare spin-off that would work even if the parent didn’t exist.
