Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Tilly and Adira lead a team of Starfleet Academy cadets on a training mission that takes a dangerous turn. Meanwhile, Burnham is pulled into tense negotiations on Ni’Var.
Our Take
The cadet training mission has some decent tension, and Tilly finally gets material that fits her better than the bridge officer subplot she’s been stuck with. The Ni’Var negotiations drag, though, and the political hand-wringing feels like retreading old ground. A serviceable but forgettable hour that works best when it stays focused on the kids.
