Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Burnham and Book race to evacuate a group of stranded colonists in the anomaly’s path as one of the Federation’s brightest scientists comes aboard the U.S.S. Discovery to do do or die research with Saru and Stamets.
Our Take
A solid if busy hour that splits its attention between a decent planet-side rescue and some fun science problem-solving back on the ship. The colonist storyline leans on one character’s moral dilemma and mostly earns it, though the tension feels a bit manufactured. Saru gets good material with the visiting scientist. Nothing groundbreaking, but it moves the season along nicely.
