Episode Summary & Review
Summary
A murder scene with a bloody bat symbol spells trouble for the Batman. Thanks to Hattie Tetch’s smear campaign, the Dark Knight detective faces more public scrutiny than ever before. Determined to clear his name, the Batman discovers a fanatical bat cult led by a charismatic prophet, the Mad Monk.
Our Take
A solid detective episode that leans into the noir mood without much action to speak of. The Mad Monk makes for a creepy villain, and the frame-up angle gives Bruce some real problem-solving to do, though the cult itself feels a bit thin by the end. Worth watching for the atmosphere alone, just don’t expect fireworks.
