The one your grandparents think of when you say Spider-Man. Fifty two episodes made in Canada by Grantray-Lawrence, three seasons on ABC and syndication, and a theme song with two lines that have outlived every other piece of 1960s cartoon music ever committed to acetate.
The first season, with its Ditko blue skies and Goblin, Octopus, and Vulture stories, is the good stuff; the Bakshi seasons that followed got weird and cheap in equal measure, cavemen and space aliens and a whole lot of recycled cels. The animation is a slideshow half the time. The narrator tells you what you are about to see, which sounds silly until you are eight again.
