The Flash

Our Review
Sixty five episodes of the Scarlet Speedster fighting his rogues gallery while trying to hold down a civilian life, from the same animation wave that gave Batman: The Animated Series its look, minus the darkness. The Flash needs comedy to balance the lightning, and this show’s light touch suited him better than the grim treatments did for years.
It is the most Silver-Age of the DC cartoon shows: Captain Cold, the Trickster, the Rogues scheming with a wink, and a theme song that absolutely slaps. The action is limited by 1990 budgets but choreographed well enough to sell speed.
A short syndicated run that never had a clean streaming release, which makes catching it worth the effort. Our score: 7/10. Fun, retro, and a great companion piece to the 2014 live action version.
