Jesse decides to make a change, while Walt and Skyler try to deal with an unexpected demand.

Our Take

Granite State: Walt in exile — the New Hampshire cabin, the barrel of money, Ed the disappearer’s monthly deliveries, and the loneliness of a man who outlived his own usefulness. He watches his son reject the money on the phone (“Why are you still alive?”), sees Gretchen and Elliott diminish him on Charlie Rose, and makes the last decision available to a dying ego: he leaves the cabin, buys a machine gun from a redneck with a… well, he acquires one — and drives back to Albuquerque to finish it. The hour is the empire’s ash, and the pilot light of the finale.
