Summary
Walt ties up loose ends. Seeing the evidence of his success, he makes a startling and dangerous decision.
Our Take
The empire montage: cooks stacked like a stock reel, money baled like hay, the machine purring, until the Hank problem forces the prison murders: ten witnesses in three prisons, two minutes, staged with clinical horror as Mike’s men die mid shave, mid page. The cost of the empire is now fully visible. And then the toilet: Hank, at Walt’s house, finding Leaves of Grass on the porcelain shelf, reading the inscription (“To my other favorite W.W.”), and understanding everything. The most famous act break in TV history.
