Our Review
Mordecai (a blue jay) and Rigby (a raccoon), two groundskeepers at a park, try to slack off and accidentally trigger apocalypses: the escalation structure — a mundane chore becomes a demon-summoning, a karaoke night becomes a cosmic event — powered by deadpan 80s-nostalgia humor, is one of the great comedy engines of modern animation. The supporting cast (Benson the rage-gumball boss, Skips the immortal yeti, Pops the… — the… — Pops the lollipop-man whose sweetness anchors the whole thing) builds into a genuine family.
Eight seasons of escalating absurdity that ends with an actual space-war finale — the show commits to every bit, and the finale’s Pops sacrifice lands real emotion under all the chaos. Adventure Time‘s weirder, louder cousin.
Verdict: Watch it. OOOOOOOOH!
