Five genetically enhanced dogs with superpowers serve as the world’s last line of defense, and it is exactly as silly and as sincere as it sounds. A hammy, colorful, toyetic adventure show from the Turner cartoon wave that never once lets irony get in its way.
The best of it leans into the absurd straightness, the transformation sequences, the villain-of-the-week schemes. As a time capsule of the late syndication superhero-cartoon gold rush it belongs on the shelf as a curiosity, and its Cartoon Network rerun afterlife gave it a real audience.
Thirteen episodes, one season. Our score: 5/10. Worth a single watch out of curiosity.
