Our Review

The WandaVision spin-off nobody predicted would be this good: Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn, full-tilt camp) stripped of her powers and trapped in a TV-detective delusion until a goth teen (Joe Locke’s “Teen”) breaks her out, and the coven she assembles (Patti LuPone as a 450-year-old psychic, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp) walks the Witches’ Road — a trial-gauntlet staged with era-shifting genre homages.

The songs are genuinely great, the reveals (Teen’s identity — the payoff that reframes the whole season) stick the landing, and the Hahn-Locke double-act (a toxic mentorship with real love rotting underneath) gives it the spine Secret Invasion lacked. The finale lands the emotional payoff — it’s the rare spin-off that justifies itself by digging deeper into what WandaVision left buried: grief, motherhood, and what love costs.

Verdict: Watch it. Down the Road — the best Marvel TV surprise since Loki.
