The UCB four, including a young Amy Poehler, bring their stage improv philosophy to basic cable with sketches about a universe that does not care about your dignity. It is raw, hit or miss, and occasionally years ahead of its time: the ass pennies bit alone secured its place in comedy history.
More interesting than consistently funny, but comedy nerds can trace half of modern improv culture straight back to it.
