Noah Wyle returns to the hospital and reinvents the medical drama: one fifteen hour shift, one episode per hour, no flashbacks, no romance subplots, just the grind of a Pittsburgh ER. It is the most realistic show about medicine ever aired, built with ER veterans who clearly never stopped caring.
Wyle is superb as the attending carrying grief he will not name, and the real time format makes every patient count. It became the biggest new hit on television for a reason. If you ever loved a hospital show, watch this.
