The gladiator saga returns with its best villain as the lead: Nick Tarabay’s Ashur, the slave who schemed his way through three seasons of backstabbing, gets his own what if continuation. The blood, the slow motion, the operatic speeches are all back.
Without the original’s ensemble, it feels more like a victory lap than a new chapter, but a fun one. For fans of the original, it is a welcome encore.
