The smartest thing Disney could do with a franchise this beloved: let LEGO poke it. LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian compresses all three seasons of the live-action flagship into one brick-built special, and the joke-to-minute ratio is exactly what you’d hope — Grogu stealing snacks, stormtroopers being stormtroopers, and Din Djarin’s monosyllabic gravitas played for deadpan laughs. It’s aimed at families and younger fans, but the writing is layered enough that adult fans will catch the deeper ribs (the armorer’s solemnity, the constant speeder-bike wrecks). Like the best LEGO specials (LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, the holiday special that actually worked), it treats canon as a sandbox rather than scripture. It won’t replace the real thing, and it’s not trying to. It’s a perfect 45-minute palate cleanser between serious Star Wars — the kind of thing you put on with a kid or after a long day. This is the way.
