A Finnish noir that earned its reputation one gloomy Helsinki winter at a time. Detective Sofia Karppi, freshly widowed, catches a body that leads into land deals, drugs, and a conspiracy that keeps unfolding long after it should have stopped. Pihla Viitala carries the whole thing with a stare that could freeze the Baltic.
Slower and more procedural than the Nordic noirs it gets compared to, but the atmosphere is thick enough to spread on bread. For fans of The Bridge and Trapped.
Our take: 7/10.
