Our Review
The best thing to happen to Westeros since the original show peaked. Based on George R. R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novellas, it follows a hedge knight and his squire wandering a kingdom in decline, and it swaps Game of Thrones scale for something warmer: a road story with real heart.
Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell are perfectly cast, and the show remembers what made early Game of Thrones great: characters first, spectacle when it counts. It is fun, which is not a word anyone used for the flagship’s last seasons.
