Isabel’s marriage to Jared was arranged to seal a family alliance, and a year in they have met so rarely each would struggle to recognize the other’s face. She puts her attention into her job instead, and into the man she works for: Lorenzo Bellini, billionaire, the one she actually loves, while still legally someone else’s wife.

That is the whole engine: a woman doing her best at a job she is good for while an office romance with her boss complicates every meeting, and a paper husband she cannot stop being married to. The genre usually resolves this with a public humiliation and a wedding; I Wish It Were You earns its 440 million views mostly on chemistry and pacing, one tight beat per minute-long episode, no filler court scenes.

Our take: it is DramaBox’s evergreen, the title that was #1 on the shelf before the current crop and still out-views everything newer. Best single element: Isabel’s competence. She is not waiting to be chosen, she is working, and the show lets career scenes breathe in a format that usually has no time for them. The catch: the late-game love-triangle stretch repeats the same misunderstanding three times before it is allowed to die.

Verdict: 7/10. The best entry point to the whole app, 78 episodes of about one hour total. Watch it if you want your office romance with the marriage complication turned up to eleven.
