Our Take
The 1984 pilot still holds up as a fun, kinetic introduction, with the Autobot-Decepticon war established fast and the animation doing decent work for a toy commercial. Some of the voice acting and exposition is clunky by modern standards, and the cliffhanger feels like a sales pitch, but it’s paced well and the character designs are iconic. Worth a watch for animation fans and nostalgia seekers.
