Summary
Growing up in a remote forest cabin with his dad, Gus learns lessons about survival and the dangers that lurk beyond the fence to the outside world.
Our Take
A surprisingly gentle post-apocalyptic premiere that leans on warmth instead of dread, and it mostly works. The father-son setup in the woods gives the episode real emotional grounding, though the pacing drags a bit before things open up. Nonso Anozie’s arrival late in the hour finally kicks the story into gear. Worth your time if you want something hopeful rather than grim.
