Summary
People are disappearing from Beach City, and Steven tries to solve the mystery.
Our Take
This one’s mostly setup for the finale, and it shows. The creeping dread of people vanishing works well, and the new gems at the end land with real menace, but too much of the middle is Steven and friends poking around without much payoff. Fine as a first half, frustrating if you expected a full story.
