Summary
Q surprises Captain Janeway in her quarters with the announcement that he has chosen her to be the mother of his child to be. Janeway discovers that there is a civil war going on in the Q Continuum.
Our Take
Q trying to romance Janeway is as ridiculous as it sounds, and John de Lancie clearly has fun with it, but the comedy wears thin once the civil war stuff kicks in. The Civil War metaphor for the Q Continuum is a neat idea executed pretty flatly. Watchable, occasionally funny, but it’s mostly a missed opportunity with a premise this big.
