Our Take
This is a decent showcase for Jennifer Lien, who gets to play menacing and unhinged in a way Kes never normally would, and she clearly enjoys the change. The problem is the coup plot itself, which feels like generic palace intrigue we’ve seen a hundred times. Worth watching for her performance, just don’t expect the political storyline to hold much interest.
