Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Paris experiments with breaking the warp 10 barrier. Once transwarp is achieved, Lt. Paris starts to undergo a strange transformation which places his life in danger.
Our Take
A famously weird hour that starts as a decent technical problem story and then completely loses the plot once Paris starts mutating. The first half has some genuine tension, but the salamander business and that ending are so baffling they’ve become legend. Watch it once for the curiosity factor, because it’s never boring, just don’t expect it to make sense.
