Summary
Picard discovers that an 87-million years-old comet has been housing alien beings, which attack both Data and the Enterprise’ computer systems.
Our Take
This is a weird one, and not always in a good way. Brent Spiner clearly has a blast playing Data possessed by a rotating cast of ancient alien personalities, and his commitment almost sells the whole premise, but the mythology riddles get tiresome fast and the ending feels arbitrary. Worth a watch for curiosity, just don’t expect it to hang together.
